“O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?” The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. ut thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ”. 1 Corinthians 15:55-57
I can only imagine how the people must have felt many years ago, the day between Saturday and Sunday. The hearbreak must have been intense. The tears and total confusion and sadness must have been unquantifiable.
It is the day before Sunday and everywhere must have been so quiet and still. Saturday in Jewish Religion represents the Sabbath, meaning the day of rest. Everyone is to refreain from working / activities and should simply rest and be still.
Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James(the younger) and Joses (Joseph) and Salome were to prepare the body of Jesus Christ with spices. They bough and prepared these spices, but ran out of time to put these on the body of Jesus. They ran out of time by Friday, Saturday is the day of rest and so they had to wait for Sunday. I can only imagine that they didn’t get much rest.
What they did not realise was that the miracle of Sunday was round the corner.
Many of us are currently in the Sabbath phase of life, we have done all we can do and all God has asked us to do. The best thing we can do in this phase is rest and be still. We must learn to rest in God and in His promises. The day before Sunday teaches us that if God has said He is and He will we should believe Him. Our job from that point is to rest in him, holding on to our hope, believe and active faith. We must believe that our Sunday is coming and will come!
Whatever you are waiting on God for, remember your Sunday is coming! Hold on to your hope and the promises of God for you. Hold on to your faith like you first believed. Your Sunday is coming and it will not be delayed.
Happy Ressurection Sunday beautiful people!
Much Love,
