“Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:2
The world today is going through a global crisis, a pandemic, a virus they say is out there plaguing the world.
We have been warned to stay at home, maintain social distance from other people, wash our hands frequently, when we can, use our sanitizer, not forgetting the use of nose mask when necessary.
This is not new to man. There was once a plague like this, but at that time, it was a plague of snake bites that killed a lot of God’s people. “And they cried to God for help, God commanded their leader Moses to make a brazen serpent, hung on a pole and let the people look away from the plague and to the lifted serpent and they will be saved from the plague. Moses did as God commanded, the people obeyed and that was the end to the plague.” – Numbers 21:8
In the new testament, Our Lord Jesus referred to the serpent Moses lifted in the wilderness for the salvation of Gods children, as a pointer to how He will be lifted for the salvation of mankind. – John 3:14
Today, I read a lot of debates going on. Different theories; some say it’s the 5G network causing the virus, or that it’s the anti-Christ and others say that it maybe that the end has come. So much confusion. Even the “Big Men of God” are confused and teaching conflicting theories. One thing is certain, this virus is not from God. Until this dispensation is over, until the rapture of the church, God will not plague the world with a virus. The presence of the church is what is preserving this present world.
Today, the world is in search for a solution, in search of a vaccine. Science seems to have failed, even the world acclaimed super powers are dazed. People are dying in hundreds, where is help coming from?
The psalmist says, let’s look up to the hills
Look away from the plague and look UP to the solution; He was nailed to the cross at Calvary. For our sake, He was nailed up there so we can look up to Him and be saved from the plagues of this world. Corona virus is included amongst the plagues. Hallelujah!
Focus on the redemptive work of Jesus Christ, not the virus and the numerous theories. These theories will only create fear and confusion within you. They will hinder your faith in God’s word. This is the time to constantly speak Gods promises to yourselves even in quiet times to build your faith.
We must constantly keep in view Christ redemptive works. Every promise of God to us today is hinged on Christ and all He came to do.
Build your faith and banish fear from your temple. You bear the mark of Christ. You are different. It doesn’t matter whoever they say in the news contracted the virus, YOU ARE DIFFERENT.
Let’s focus on what Christ has done and not the virus. Looking unto Jesus, the originator and the perfecter of Our Faith.
Heed also to instructions; wash your hands frequently with soap, stay away from large gatherings, maintain social distances. Even your GOs’ are doing these things. Be wise.
Enjoy your Easter.
