“I will give thanks to you, Lord with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds” Psalm 9:1
In the UK the temperature is dropping rapidly, and on the news this evening we are being warned that there is high likelihood of snow! Now to us here, we don’t see snow often, which means it is going to get severely cold.
Hot tea in hand, I listen to the news and at this point in time, I am extremely grateful to God for the hot tea in my hand, the privilege to have the resources to make one and the ability to drink one to keep me warm.
I am reminded that we don’t have to wait for the big and stirringly visible things to manifest in our lives before we give thanks, but to mindful that we express our gratitude for the inconspicuous things. I am grateful for my cup of tea.
I am grateful that I have access to water and to tea bags, to electricity to make the tea and that I own a cup and more importantly am well enough to lift the tea to my lips and drink it ! It might seem such a trivial thing to be grateful to God for, but I know of people who have all this but are not able to drink the tea, or are very capable of drinking tea but have no means or ways to get one.
I am grateful for the simple things in life such as a cup of hot tea on a cold winter evening.
Dear Lord, I lift my gratitude to you as an offering and pray it is acceptable in your presence today in Jesus name.
Over to you dear readers, WHAT SIMPLE THINGS ARE YOU THANKFUL TO GOD FOR TODAY?
