Happy New Year! Our first blog post for the year. We normally take the first month of the year to reflect on the previous year, rest, seek God’s guidance for the year ahead and plan accordingly. We hope that you have started the year well and in line with God’s will for you.
2020 was a strange and tough year for everyone, but we are exceedingly grateful for the mercies, goodness and comfort of God over us all. If there is anything most of us learnt this year is the need for kindness, empathy and love. We have realised more than ever that our priorities were all wrong. We realised that friendship, family and spending quality time is important. We learnt that we when all the chips are down, we need God! He is the one who understands and can get the world out of the current pandemic. God bless the scientists, the key workers and leaders! They are doing their best, but ultimately we need the wisdom and help of God.
In 2020, we learnt that regardless of differences we need to come together as one, after-all, we have been created as relational beings. We learnt the importance of checking up on our neighbours and friends; we learnt to first be friendly.
2021 presents an empty canvas for us to paint a picture, one that is much better than last year. However, as Proverbs 16:9 says “We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps”. As you make plans and plot your coordinates for this year, I encourage you to do this with God. Take delight in Him, in His abilities and His love for you. You will not be disappointed for He will give your heart’s desires.
Much Love,
