- It is to practice what we believe and preach
- To reap the Benefits of gratitude: It has been proven not only by psychologists and scientists but many people like you and I that a life of gratitude helps live a purposeful, focused, peaceful and happy lives. It also helps us to be content and not get carried away with aspiring for the unnecessary, something many are overwhelmed with in our media infused society.
- It is to stretch ourselves: Usually towards the end of each year, the first of December to be exact, we embark on a 31 days Thanksgiving and Praise countdown, where we reflect back on the year and express out gratitude to God. This time we are taking this a step further and stretching it to 100 days. Yes, it will be a challenge, but one that we can get through with God’s help
- Have a hunger and desire to change
- Get a calendar where you can mark the days off as you go along
- Get a journal to write your thoughts and Gratitude notes. We recommend ‘Today I Am Thankful’
- Get a devotional of your choice to use alongside your journal (not mandatory, but it helps with focus)
- Decide upon a wellness activity that you can engage comfortably to start with and one you can challenge yourself with during the 100 days, e.g exercise (whatever level) such as walking, attending fitness classes, meditation.
- Daily prompts – a Bible verse to meditate on and encouragement for you to write your thoughts in your journal and list 3 things you are grateful for.
- I will post my chosen wellness activity for the day and any books I will be using along side the ‘today I am thankful’ journal.
