Winter is here, and it is cold and wet outside. A lot of people sit in the warmth and comfort of their homes with no care in the world, whilst planning for the upcoming holiday season – Christmas. However, there are thousands of people who for one reason or another live outside, on the streets, card boxes, shop doors and closed up malls. There are many who are homeless and hoping and praying that before the weather gets even worse, their situation changes.
Today we are exceedingly grateful for the gift of shelter; a roof over our heads. We do not take this for granted. We are grateful that at the end of each day we have somewhere to go that we call ‘home’. We are grateful that we have a place to shield us from the elements of nature, heat, rain, cold and otherwise. We try our best to share this gift with others and pray that we continue to do so as you lead us to.
We remember those who are homeless and destitute, and we pray with your wisdom and direction we continue to help when and where we can.
Today Lord, we are grateful for the shelter you have blessed us with. We are thankful for a roof over our heads, a dwelling and a place we can call home. We pray that our gratitude for our homes is acceptable in your presence in Jesus name. Amen.
Over to you beautiful people, what are you thankful to God for today?
